Currently serving in the 11th Parliament, Kamara has managed to navigate the halls of Parliament, witnessing the changes at Parliament in both the 9th and 10th Parliament.

A weekend fundraiser towards the Construction of St. Charles Mwaro Pre and Primary School in Nyarubuye Sub County offered the perfect opportunity for Habyara Fortunate Gatare alias GUY to raise the stakes by calling out Hon. Kamara.

During his address, Gatare said the legendary Member of Parliament and man of the people should consider bowing out of the 2026 general elections and leave room for new players like himself to positively contribute to the development of Bufumbira North.

Mr. Habyara is a commissioned officer in the Uganda Police Force.

It still remains unclear whether ‘GUY’ intends to step down from civil service and pursue a political career, however what is clear, is his desire to see change of Political leadership in Bufumbira North.

Joram Hagabimana, the Busanza LCV Councilor said change of leadership is necessary and said Gatare’s suggestions are welcome.

Hagabimana said a lot of his political effort has been directed towards sensitizing communities against encroaching on wetlands and deforestation however the incumbent Legislator has never done anything to support his work.

The two leaders have in the past worked together to ensure peace prevails in Bufumbira North at a time when rebel militants, M23 were crossing into Uganda and causing a major security threat to the locals.

Hon. John Kamara in his response said, he has done a lot of things for the people and still has a lot more to do.

He however noted that 2026 is still a long way off therefore Mr. Gatare should focus on his professional assignments and leave politics to the politicians.

The fundraiser at St. Charles Mwaro Pre and Primary School managed to raise Seven Million in Cash.

Mr. Gatare pledged to construct one classroom as support towards Hon. Kamara’s pledge to construct two classrooms at the school.
