Others complained that some names on the list were missing.

Celestine Mugarura, a resident of Nyabaremura village, Rubuguri town council says he was disappointed to discover that his name did not appear on the list.

“It is unfortunate that no one from Rubuguri appeared on the list. I think this is unfair but there’s nothing to do”, Mugarura said

Gerrard Mucunguzi, a resident of Kahurire village, Nkuringo town council says he was so pleased to find his name on the list. He however decried the decision by the UPDF to ask them use their own transport.

“Some of us have never been to Ntungamo and therefore, we anticipate some challenges. They should have sent a truck to pick us up because we do not have money, Mucunguzi said

The 2nd division Western region Spokesperson Lt. Sunday Geoffrey said all those applicants who were successfully selected needed to travel to Irenga, for a series of activities which include road test and medical examination among others.

He further noted that all those who missed out today will have to wait for another trial next time.

Lt. Geoffrey explained to vomuhabura clearing the claims that all people needed to pay for their own transport to Ntungamo.

“They paid their own transport to Ntungamo because they are not yet part of the UPDF outfit”, said Geoffrey

He noted that those will pass the above tests will not need to return but will instead proceed for further training while those who are dropped, will have to find their way back.
