The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kisoro has summoned Kisoro District Council and the Kisoro District Local Government to answer to an application filed by six members of Kisoro service commission challenging an ongoing recruitment process.
According to court documents dated May 5, 2026, the applicants—Erastus Nshaka, Fr. Safari Emmanuel, Richard Turamuhawe, Peace Mbabazi, Gaudensia Busingye, and Francesca Mugisha, have petitioned the court seeking a temporary injunction against the district authorities.
The application, filed under Section 98 of the Civil Procedure Act and relevant provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules, arises from a dispute linked to a recruitment advert issued on March 30, 2026.
The applicants want court orders restraining the respondents, their agents, or anyone acting under their authority from halting or interfering with the ongoing recruitment process. They are also seeking to block any resolutions aimed at suspending or interdicting them, as well as preventing interference with their work pending the determination of the main application.
Court records indicate that all parties have been directed to appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court on May 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., where the application will be heard.
In addition to the injunction, the applicants are also asking the court to award them costs of the application.
The case highlights growing tensions surrounding recruitment and administrative decisions within Kisoro District, with the court expected to provide interim guidance as the matter awaits full hearing and determination.
