83 DRC REFUGEES RETURN HOME VIA BUNAGANA BORDER

83 Congolese from Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in kyegegwa have today been allowed to cross via Bunagana after being intercepted at Kanaba check point.

Security officers at Kanaba check point intercepted 23 females,19 males and 41 children all travelling  in two taxis.

The taxis UBE 2166S and UBD 268 E carried the refugees from Mbarara to Bunagana boarder.

Refugees told voice of Muhabura that they decided to return back to their home country after harsh conditions they were facing like lack of food.

They said that they are given 22,000 shillings to buy food and other needs which they say it delays.

A security source who preferred anonymity said that refugees have been coming from different settlements going back to DR Congo but in few number.

He urged people of Kisoro to be vigilant since the refugees may start use illegal routs entering Kisoro district.
