We are tired of covid 19 directives against us, Boda boda riders in Kisoro say

Boda Boda Riders in Kisoro Municipality have vowed not to adhere to police enforcements anymore because they have lost patience in the presidential directives which they say that they are segregated

At the moment Boda boda stages in and around Kisoro municipality have resumed normal operations. Operators say they need to provide daily basic needs to their family needs and paying motorcycle owners adding that they cannot seat at home waiting until covid-19 is declared over.

They said they have been patient for long but hunger has made them lose patience.

Speaking to voice of Muhabura, Boda Boda Riders said that they were allowed to carry Cargo but they do not get enough money to sustain them through cargo carrying.

Recently Kalangala Robert the chairperson Kisoro United boda boda operators asked the riders to be patient saying they cannot challenge president’s directives.

Tumuheirwe William the Kisor police traffic officer said the ridders should not flout the directives aimed at curbing down the spreading covid19.He added that riders who flout guidelines will be fined before they get their motorcycles from police.

Meanwhile, many boda boda riders are always seen carrying passangers even through the town.

Meanwhile, the LC5 councilor representing southern division in Kisoro Municipality Agaba James believes that only Kisoro district is still facing police and army harassments because of the imbalances in the government.
