Traffic Police in the area say the accident occurred yesterday in Kibande Village, Kanaba Sub County at 5am.

The driver of the Vehicle registration number UAW 134Y who has only been identified as Dennis is said to be on the run.

It is alleged that on the fateful morning, the Isuzu Elf truck carrying six occupants, charcoal and Irish potatoes failed to break causing the driver to lose control of the motor vehicle which overturned.

Karamuzi (now deceased) is said to have been sitting on top of the charcoal when the truck overturned.

His body was thrown off the truck along with the charcoal which landed on him, causing his death.

Traffic Personnel Kushaba Micheal says no other passenger was harmed during the accident.

Kushaba further cautioned road users, especially those on trucks to avoid sitting on top of the merchandize they are transporting because it is too risky and can easily lead to loss of life.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for post mortem and later handed over to relatives for burial.
