A total of 241 adults from different religious backgrounds in Kisoro District have graduated after completing a one-year family empowerment course facilitated by Eden mission.
The adults participated in a course that run from the month of January to December 2023 offering various development skills including Spiritual development, personal finance, business development, parenting and childhood development, healthy marriage, God and health among other disciplines.
During the graduation ceremony held at Gifumba Church of Uganda in Kanaba Sub County, the Programs Director of Eden Mission, Reverend Amon Byiringiro congratulated the graduates and called upon on them to combine their efforts to raise their children in a responsible manner.
Reverend Wilson Maniraguha of Gifumba C.O.U said he believes that the trained people will have stable free of domestic violence adding that many homes are on the verge of breaking down due to alcoholism and violence in homes.
The LCV Councilor of Kanaba sub–County Ntabanuye Emmanuel commended Eden Mission for extending the training to married couples in his sub county. He said many cases of Domestic Violence go unreported however many families are suffering in silence.
The graduates thanked Eden mission for transforming their mindset through the yearlong training.
John Brehm, the Eden mission Board member who was the guest of honor asked the trainees to go out in the community and spread the information of transformation.
During the same function, the Bishop of Muhabura Diocese Rt. Rev Godfrey Mbitse wedded 13 couples at Gifumba Church of Uganda.
