Kisoro Saviour Secondary school is eager to receive its 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education Examination (UCE) results, according to the head teacher, Benda Wilberforce.
A total of 130 learners that sat for the national examinations at the learning institution were upset when the school was suspected of exam malpractice by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
UNEB released the 2023 UCE results on 15th February this year.
Mr Benda tells Voice of Muhabura that the school management was later notified by UNEB that the results had been withheld on allegations of examination malpractice in the Physics paper one exam.
Speaking to www.vomuhabura.com, Mr Benda said that the school had been cleared of the allegations after the candidates successfully defended their work at the UNEB headquarters.
“We received a communication that we were suspected of malpractice. UNEB demanded that out learners travel to Kampala to defend their exam work, which was successfully done, and the officials say it was their mistake.”
“The UNEB officials said our candidates had written almost similar answers, but this was not the same when our learners arrived at the headquarters. It was a mistaken decision.”
Benda says that although the process has been tedious, they are happy that their image has finally been cleared.
He said they expect to receive the results before the end of this week.
