Results of Covid-19 tests done on Wednesday have confirmed 8 new cases, raising the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 1,051.
Of the 8 new cases, there was no Ugandan truck driver. Two of them were alerts from Kampala and Kagadi districts, 5 were contacts, with three from Amuru and two from Lamwo districts.
The eighth case is a Ugandan who recently returned from India and was under quarantine by the time of testing.
Meanwhile, a total of 10 foreign truck drivers, 8 Kenyans and 2 Tanzanians were confirmed positive and were denied entry ionto the country.
Uganda has seen 1,014 recoveries, including both Ugandan and foreigners, while a total of 194 people are still admitted in different hospitals across the country. They include 173 Ugandans, 18 foreigners and 3 refugees.
