Kisoro; Sub County, Division and town council LC3 chairmen in Kisoro district have been asked to cooperate with the district task force in enforcing presidential and ministry of health covid-19 guidelines to surpass the rising rates of covid-19 in the district.
The call was made by the Kisoro resident district commissioner, retired Captain Peter Mugisha during an emergency meeting with Sub county, Municipal Division and town council LC3 chairmen at the district headquarters today.
According to the RDC, LC3 Chairmen are the headmasters of their sub counties and they are supposed to coordinate presidential directives at that level.He asked them to engage LC1 chairmen and sub county OC stations to teamwork in their operations.

He also asked them to be security conscious for their selves and the people they lead and always communicate to police authorities in case of any threats. He advised them to also always make Sub county security meetings with LC1s and submit their resolutions to the district security committee.
“always be security conscious for your people and yourselves, You have many enemies of course and you need to protect yourselves against them. Always have meetings with LC1s to engage them as they are the number ones sources of information” He said.
The Kisoro district health officer (DHO), Nsabiyunva Steven said that covid-19 cases in the district are on an increase and worse because of the new approach of home care management that could further spread the disease.
He noted that 28 people have been found positive in few tests made on Monday and tuesday among whom 23 patients are in their homes, 3 at Kisoro Hospital in critical conditions, 1 Busanza health center IV, 1 Mutolere hospital.
He asked people to welcome vaccination because it’s healthy to all people above 18 apart from pregnant and breast feeding mothers.

He advised teachers to be vaccinated as sooner as possible before schools reopen because they may miss out. Health workers are also at a risk of being sidelines if they don’t have vaccination certificates.

LC5 chairman, Bizimana Abel appealed to LC3 chairmen to work hand in hand with their parish chiefs and town clerks to supplement the district task force’s efforts to fight covid-19.
