Izabayo Syfullah who got 4 aggregates posing with his Father at Amazing Grace
School directors, Head teachers and pupils who sat for 2020 PLE exams are celebrating after getting results that were released by Uganda national examination board (UNEB) yesterday.
While releasing the results, Uganda national examination board (Uneb) said it registered improved performance by pupils who sat for the 2020 primary leaving examinations despite the Covid-19 restrictions.
At Amazing grace primary school 14 are in first grade with the best candidate Izabayo Syfullah having 4 aggregates.
Alex Mushime the director of Amazing grace said it is a great milestone to have all students in first and second grades. He said that the used to belive that Izabayo Syfullah can scoop all and emerge with four aggregates
Izabayo Syfullah who emerged with 4 aggregates praised Amazing Grace teaching staff and his parents for the help they offered him during studies.
At St Allen’s primary school the best has 5 aggregates, at River Jordan academy the best candidate has 6 aggregates, at Shalom foundation the best has 7 aggregates, at Mutolere primary school they have six in first grade with the best having seven aggregates, Chuho has four in first grade, the best having eight, Gisozi SDA has 8 in division one the best having eight.
In traditional good performing schools, Muramba primary school has one in first grade, Gihuranda has three, Nyakabingo has three, Rwaramba has fourteen in first grade.
The Uganda National Examinations Board released Primary Leaving examinations (PLE) results on Friday 16th afternoon.
The UNEB Chairperson Mary Okwakol said statistics on registration show that the number of registered candidates went up with a larger percentage than ever before. This was contrary to expectation and so the Board undertook a study to find out the reason for this increase.
Okwakol revealed that one of the findings is that in the districts of Kampala, Wakiso and some urban centres elsewhere, a number of head teachers admitted that they registered Primary Six pupils, mostly girls, to sit the 2020 PLE.
Dan Odongo the Executive Secretary UNEB revealed that over 68% of the candidates (513,091) are products of the Universal Primary Education program.
