Elsewhere in La Liga….rivals Real Madrid to carry out legal action against La Liga president Tebas
Real Madrid have announced they will carry out civil and criminal legal actions against La Liga president Javier Tebas over the deal with private equity firm CVC Partners.
Last week, La Liga announced an agreement with CVC Partners. The deal would see €2.7 billion injected into Spanish football to be mostly spent by clubs at all levels to improve infrastructure and off-field business areas.
Barcelona are opposed to the agreement and Real Madrid have said they will carry out legal action against Tebas.
Many La Liga clubs have been badly hit by COVID-19, with losses around the league totalling €733 million in 2020-21, so this extra money will be very useful for recovery projects.
Real are opposed to the CVC deal, however, because they do not feel that it is a good deal for them financially and believe that La Liga are giving up too high a share of their future revenues over the coming decades.
