Livingstone Mbabazi is has completed a remarkable return to Mbarara City as their head coach on a two-year contract, vom sports has learnt.
Mbabazi who was sacked by Kyetume FC at the start of the week will succeed Brian Ssenyondo who was dismissed by the Kakyeka Stadium club in February.
The Uganda Cranes assistant coach made a cameo appearance in the stands at the MTN Omondi Stadium for Wednesday evening’s loss to Police FC, as Sadiq Ssempigi continued his caretaker role.
A source from the club described Mbabazi’s appointment as a superb appointment, and one that brings enthusiasm and tactical brilliance to the club.
“He is a top manager in Ugandan football, his appointment is good for the club as he embraces the vision of Mbarara City,” the source told this website.
His enthusiasm to take over together with his tactical abilities promises an exciting future for our club,” the source said.
Mbabazi will meet with his new players and is expected to start his new role on Thursday with his first game coming against Vipers SC at Kakyeka Stadium on Saturday.
The appointment of Mbabazi is a big statement from Mbarara who sit 13th in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, five points above the relegation zone.
