KISORO: A number of NRM Local leaders contesting as LC5 Councilors, LCIII chairpersons, parish councilors and LC3 chairpersons turned up in large numbers to pick interest expression forms at NRM electoral commission offices in Kisoro district.
By 6pm on Friday 7, 2020 people were still many lining up but without observing social distance as it is recommended by the president and the Ministry of health.
Among them were aspiring LC3 chairpersons, LC3 councilors, LC4 councilors and LC5 councilors who all forgot about social distancing as they were in long queues ascending to the NRM offices.
Several aspirants blamed the incumbent leaders to have not done enough to the expectations of the people they lead.
The new Aspirants said that they want to have services brought near to locals by befriending higher leaders.
A section of women councilors who spoke to voice of Muhabura said that they want to represent people’s interests to councils and fight for more developments.
The Kirundo sub county NRM chairperson, Bishubeho Luis picked interest forms for the LC5 councilor seat alleging that their councilor has not done enough to bring development to each local.
Gasana John Bayizere a former employee of voice Muhabura said that he has picked nomination form for LC3 councilor Nyakabingo parish in Chahi Sub County t ensure service delivery to all.
Hashakimana Robert vying for LC3 chairperson Chahi Sub County confirmed to voice of Muhabura that he has already picked the nomination form. He said that he is ready to uplift Chahi Sub County to another status.
Niyonshima Joshua a presenter at voice of Muhabura also picked nomination form. Niyonshiman is vying for LC5 councilorship for Southern division Kisoro Municipality.
Among other contestants is incumbent Kazimiri Wilson for Chahi sub county, Agaba James for southern division in Kisoro Municipality, Marry Sebi for Nyarusiza ansd Chahi Sub County among others.
However, the queue was full of new contestant’s especially new comers including Martin Hakizimana for lc5 councilor Muramba sub county, Keredoniya Kayarisma for Rushaga ward in Rubuguri town council among others.
Meanwhile, picking of interest forms for NRM party will end on 12th august 2020.
