The Director for Kisoro Municipal Vocational Training Institute and former MP for Kisoro Municipality Hon Sam Byibesho has today wished success to all senior four candidates in the district and the country ahead of their UCE Exams on Monday next week.
The 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Exams begin on Monday, the 16th of October 2023 with Geography paper one and two in the morning and afternoon respectively.
The veteran teacher Byibesho expressed his wishes for success to all candidates, noting that getting a senior four certificate is foundational and helps build a bright future for any student.
Hon. Byibesho singled out Kisoro Municipal Vocational training institute as the best option for those candidates who wish to complete their studies in a short period of time.
He also revealed that the institute has an alliance with Makerere University to offer Diploma courses in Education, especially teachers upgrading from nursery education and those upgrading from Grade III certificates.
Hon. Sam Byibesho noted that an affiliation between Kisoro Municipal Vocational Training Institute and Makerere University will ease access to these courses by people in and around Kisoro.
Hon. Byibesho singled out Kisoro Municipal Vocational training institute as the best for those candidates who wish to complete their studies in a short term.
He also stressed competitiveness in the Job market as the importance for joining KIMUVOTI after completing their senior four and primary seven education due to the marketable courses offered.
In 2021, the Ministry of sports and education phased out at least 23 PTC colleges as a measure to put an end to Grade III certificates and Early Childhood Education Certificates for nursery teachers.
The ministry directed that all holders of the phased-out certificates upgrade to either Diploma or Bachelor certificates within 10 years.
Having disbanded Kisoro Primary Teachers College, learners will have to incur serious costs in order to travel to Kampala for Bachelor Education program and to Kabale for Diploma Education.
