The kisoro district woman member of parliament Hon Akifeza Grace Ngabirano has thanked Yoweri Museveni for appointing her as the new State Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs, describing the appointment as a blessing to both the people of Kisoro and the entire country.
Speaking today following her appointment yesterday, Akifeza also appreciated the people of Kisoro for their prayers, support and confidence in her leadership. She pledged to serve Ugandans diligently and execute her duties with commitment and honesty.
Akifeza said the appointment demonstrates that Kisoro continues to gain recognition at the national level, adding that the district has greatly benefited from the President’s trust in its leaders.
She further pledged to work closely with government and security agencies to ensure effective service delivery in her new ministerial office.

Meanwhile, speaking during Eid al-Adha celebrations at Kisoro Main MosqueON Wednesday 27 May 2026, Kisoro District LC5 Chairperson Ndyaana Richard said the ministerial position given to Akifeza reflects the President’s love and confidence in the people of Kisoro and the Kigezi sub-region.
