KISORO:The incumbent Kisoro Woman Member of parliament, Kabageni Rose has lost the fight to retain the National Resistance Movement-NRM party flag to her rival, Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateeke.
According to the primary election results announced by the Kisoro District NRM Registrar, Sarah Nyirabashitsi Mateeke got 62,388 votes while Kabageni Rose got 53,209 as the second in the second position. This means that Sarah Nyirabashitsi pulled 9179 more votes than the incumbent.
In Bufumbira East Dr James Nsaba buturo the incumbet won all the four rivals with 16,606 votes which is about 10,764 more votes than his closest challenger Roland Kanya Nkuruma who pulled 5842 votes as the second, Amos Hakizimana got 4992 as the third,Tubonyintwari Edson got 1648 while Emmanuel Nteziyaremye Asessa came last with 711 votes.
In Bufumbira South where the election was tight, Eng Alex Niyonsaba Seruganda pulled 26,397 winning incumbent Sam K Bitangaro with close to 5550- votes.
Kwizera Paul Buchana won the vote of Kisoro Municipality with 4,452 votes wining Sam Byibesho who got 3409 votes a magine of 1043 votes.
In Bufumbira North Kamara John Nizeyimana emerged as a winner while in Bukimbiri County Eddy Kwizera wa Gahungu is celebrating as the NRM flag bearer.
