The Kisoro District Resident District Commissioner Hajji Badru Ssebyala has directed Security organs in the district to apply deadly force following growing concerns of increased insecurity in Kisoro Town.

Ssebyala made the revelation while briefing Journalists on the resolutions made by the District Security Committee yesterday.

Police have said cases of theft are on the rise while people armed with pangas have begun to move in the night, threatening the peace of town dwellers.

The public has been urged to remain on high alert especially during evening and night hours.

According to Ssebyala, Police has been instructed to shoot at such criminals who are threatening the peace and safety of innocent people.

Kisoro town is not new to such occurrences. In 2022, Police and other security agencies in the district were engaged in running battles with juvenile delinquents who terrorized the town.

Many youths were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, burglary, attempted murder among other cases.
