A woman in her early late 50’s has this morning been found dead in Nyundo Sub County, Kisoro district.

According to relatives, the deceased is Theresa Icyimanizanye, aged between 55-60 years, a widow, who has been residing alone in her house. She lived in Rubona village, Bubuye Parish, Nyundo Sub County of Kisoro district.

A source intimated to www.vomuhabura.com that the deceased’s body was found today morning with bruises around the neck.

The sources add that the deceased’s body was found with legs spread apart, and indication that she could have been raped before being strangled to death.

According to relatives, the deceased could have been trailed by her assailant(s) when she left a nearby trading centre drunk last evening.

She was reportedly last seen alive at a nearby drinking point, and left in late evening hours.

It is said that Icyimanizanye’s body was this Monday morning seen by a passerby who was going to use her latrine, that is situated along a local pathway.

The body was found near the deceased’s house, which is also a few metres away from her neighbours’ residences.

By the time of publication, Kisoro Central Police Station had dispatched a team of officers to the scene.
