Police in Kisoro is investigating the death of Byamugisha Paul aged 55 years. The death of Byamugisha was reported to police by Ndyoriki James, the LC1 Chairperson of Mulinzi village, Muramba Sub County in Kisoro district.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi police spokesperson, it is alleged that on Monday 20, at around 8:30pm, Byamugisha Paul, now the deceased, who has been a teacher at Kitende Junior School in Kampala, but was currently at home in Mulinzi village, Muramba sub county, while was coming from Kidandari trading center for casual work at Fabiano’s carpentry workshop, he was attacked on his way home.
Maate says that along the way, Byamugisha was waylaid by unknown people who beat him and left him unconscious alongside the road.
He was discovered unconscious the next morning of Tuesday 21st, and was taken to Kisoro hospital where he succumbed yesterday.
Police was notified, scene was visited and postmortem was done.
The motive of the attack had not yet been established by the time of filing this story, and no arrest has been made as efforts to arrest the assailants are under way.
