The Kisoro district LC5 chairperson, Abel Bizimana is asking Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to construct a standard bridge at Hamurindi trading center in Rubuguri town council connecting Rushaga village to Bukimbiri Sub County if flooding is to be solved .
Bizimana applauded the solidarity that was exhibited by locals in demanding for government action to find solution for the floods that always threaten them at River Ruhezamyenda.
Despite the fact that UNRA responded by putting bigger Culverts at Hamurindi, Bizimana says the problem may not be solved until UNRA builds a standard Bridge similar to the One at River Kaku in Busanza.
Mr. Abel Bizimana also contacted the UNRA coordinator for Western and South Western Region of Uganda and told her to act accordingly.
However, the UNRA coordinator Mrs Benis said that construction of a standard Bridge in Rushaga is in UNRA plan though it is expensive.
“the bridge need alot of money and I cant tell whether it is can be constructed in the next financial year” says Benisi.
