Bismarkan bus edges on cliff in Kanaba, Kisoro

25 people have today survived death after a Bismarkan bus registration number UAN 079W stopped on the edge of the cliff at Kasheregenyi in Kanaba Sub County on Kisoro – Kabale road.

The incident occurred today at 9am when the bus was from Kisoro heading to Kampala. According to eyewitnesses, on reaching the sharp corner at Kasheregenyi, the bus met a truck heading to DRC, and was in the middle of the road.

The bus driver, in order to avoid a head-on collision veered on the roadside but stopped on the edge of the cliff.
Abdalah Kasirwa, the manager of Bismarkan coaches confirmed this to Voice of Muhabura, saying that the driver was trying to save lives of people that’s why he bunged the bus on the pavement.

He said that no one sustained injuries and the passengers later continued the journey after the company provided another bus.
The officer in charge of traffic in Kisoro district, William Tumuheirwe says that they are investigating the incident.
