After committing the crime Turyakira Lauben handed himself to Bukimbiri police post

The Police in Kisoro district are investigating circumstances under which a 25 year old man assaulted his wife to death.

The incident happened over the weekend at Mugambwa village, Kahurire ward, Nkuringo town council in Kisoro district at around 8pm when Turyakira Lauben alias  Murioha assaulted his own wife to death as a result of domestic violence.

Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Kyimpaye Agnes 30 years old.

Maate said that after assaulting the wife, the suspect went and handed himself over to Bukimbiri police post.

Turyakira Lauben assaulted his own wife to death as a result of domestic violence.

On getting the information about the death of their daughter, the relatives went milled and destroyed six houses which belong to the suspect and his relatives Kabagenyi Florence, Nyirahanje Lillian, and one of Edisa.

Maate stressed that police immediately rushed to the scene and the situation was brought to normal.

Two suspects in connection to malicious damage including Stephen Munezero and Byaruhanga Kerisho were arrested for questioning.

The case of murder by assault was registered at Kisoro police station under reference number CRB 507/2021.
