Church leaders from various denominations in Kisoro District on Thursday 9th April 2026 gathered at Kisoro Primary Teachers College for a specialized training on the use of audio gadgets under the visual-Audio Bible project.
The Bible Society of Uganda is spear heading the audio and digital scriptures distribution project in Kisoro District, aimed at spreading the word of God to people who are unable to read the Bible.
The training was officially commissioned by Bishop Rt Rev Godfrey Mbitse of the Diocese of Muhabura, who also participated in a handwritten Bible exercise. The activity is intended to remind Christians of the dedication and sacrifice of early scribes who preserved the Holy Scriptures.
While addressing participants, Bishop Mbitse emphasized the importance of unity among believers, noting that coming together to learn and spread the Word of God strengthens faith and fosters stronger Christian communities.
Speaking at the event, Jessy Mungaro from the Bible Society of Uganda highlighted the importance of the audio Bible, especially for people who are unable to read and those with limited time to engage with printed scriptures.
Participants welcomed the initiative, saying the training has equipped them with practical skills to spread the Gospel more effectively within their communities.
Meanwhile, Phiona Bahungirehe revealed that feedback has been received from the public regarding the Rufumbira New Testament. She noted that experts are currently reviewing the proposed changes to ensure accuracy and preserve the intended meaning of the translated scriptures.
