Residents of Gasenyi Village in Mabungo Parish, Nyarusiza Sub-county, Kisoro District have been left in shock following the suspected murder of a man allegedly killed by his wife.
The deceased has been identified as Rurakabije Bosco, a man believed to be in his 40s. The incident is reported to have occurred on the night of Monday 6th April, sending waves of fear and disbelief throughout Nyarusiza Sub County and surrounding areas.
According to preliminary information, Bosco is suspected to have been killed by his wife, Nyiraguhirwa Juliet, following what is believed to have been ongoing domestic violence in their home.
Bosco’s biological brother, Bizimana Alisen, revealed that the couple had a history of frequent misunderstandings and violence, which had raised concern among family members and neighbors.
Residents say the tragic incident has highlighted growing concerns about domestic violence in the area, calling for greater intervention from authorities and community leaders.
Police in Kisoro District have reportedly been notified and have launched investigations into the matter.
By press time, authorities had not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
