The Bishop of Muhabura Diocese, Rt Rev Godfrey Mbitse, has urged Christians to repent of their sins and strictly follow God’s commandments in order to attain everlasting life.
Delivering his Easter Sunday sermon on Voice of Muhabura on April 5, 2026, Bishop Mbitse joined the global Christian community in commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ — a cornerstone of the Christian faith.
In his message while at voice of muhabura, the bishop emphasized the importance of righteous living, warning against acts of evil and harm toward others. He challenged believers to live lives that reflect goodness, urging them to prioritize prayer and uphold the teachings of God in their daily activities.
Bishop Mbitse described Easter Sunday as a significant day that marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that it laid the foundation of Christianity and serves as a source of hope for believers. He encouraged Christians to embrace this hope and accept Jesus Christ into their hearts.
He further called on the public to desist from hatred and instead emulate God’s love by practicing kindness, unity, and compassion within their communities.
The bishop’s message comes at a time when Christians around the world are reflecting on the meaning of Easter and renewing their faith.
Easter Sunday, is the premier Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion. It signifies victory over sin and death, fulfilling biblical prophecy, and offering the promise of eternal life to believers. It concludes Holy Week and marks the start of the 50-day Easter season.
