A 26 year old woman and resident of Zindiro village Northern division in Kisoro Municipality is appealing to the Kisoro Judicial system to render mercy to her husband after he was arrested on allegations of aggravated defilement.
Joan Nyiraguhirwa, who is currently seven months’ pregnant is also a mother to three other children told Voiceofmuhabura.com that her family have not eaten any food since her husband was recently re-arrested.
Turyatunga Godfrey was in July 2020 arrested on allegations of defiling an 18 year old girl and later released on bond in January 2021.
She explained that her husband was re-arrested on Saturday last week and she has suffered to look after the family and her pregnancy because her innocent husband is the only family bread winner.
She noted that since that time, she has failed to cater for her family and even developed suicidal thoughts because of the stress of not having her husband who is the bread winner of the home.
Voice of Muhabura has seen a copy of the warrant of arrest for the same Turyatunga Godfrey. The warrant of arrest was written on 10th march 2021 and signed by the Kisoro grade one court magistrate Raphael Vueni.
According to Nyiraguhirwa, her husband was due to appear before the Grade one Magistrate, His Worship Rafael Vuwenyi however she does not understand why they have taken long to let him go.
