Residents hailing from Nyarutembe Parish in Nyabwishenya sub county have decided to boycott 2020/2021 general elections unless their parish is elevated into a sub county belonging to Bufumbira North constituency.
While holding an extra ordinary parish council meeting at sub county head quarters today, residents from villages of Bitare, Kigezi, Muko, Busanani, Kibyioni, Shunga and Nyarutemebe in Nyarutembe sub county vowed not to belong to the newly created Bukimbiri County because they have no relationship with Bakimbiri.
They noted that they have for a long been demanding for elevation of their parish to a sub county to gain independence but in vain because leaders do not care about their parish status quo.

The Nyarutemebe Parish LC2 chairperson, Semahoro Sunday Dan says that the parish leadership has wrote several letters to the sub county leaders but the council always ignore them a reason to why Nyarutemebe cannot allow to be under Bukimbiri county adding that they are segregated by Bakimbiri .
He however asked residents to be hopeful of being part of Bufumbira north because if government fails to fulfill the will of the people court will be used.
