Letter from Uganda Land Commission adrressed to Kisoro District Local Government clarifying on the land

The land situated between Kisoro Central Police Station and Nyamagana Fuel Station in Kisoro Municipality belongs to Uganda Land Commission, Kisoro Chief Administration Officer (CAO), Badru Mayanja has said.

Hajj Mayanja says the land on Plot 2 Bunagana road, Plot 5 and 7 Kisoro road, are property of Uganda Land Commission, not Kisoro District Local Government.

The land is under contention by a one Agaba Abel and Kisoro District Local Government, which had leased it to Nambajimana Alex, the Kisoro Vice LC5 Chairperson.

Hajj Mayanja told the Kisoro District Council on Thursday Afternoon that he got information from different sources that the land belongs to the Uganda land commission and Kisoro District Local Government has no mandate to claim it. 

The District Speaker, Amos Hakizimana, directed the District Lands Officer, Thomas Sekabanza, to list down all titled land belonging to the district and Uganda Land Commission for harmonization.

Hakizimana also requested the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to write to Uganda Land Commission for clarification on the matter.
