He commended the current school administration for greatly improving student’s discipline and academic performance.

“This is among the traditional schools that earned a good name. Mutolere was among the best and it has produced big names in government, in all professions. We want to see that again.” Said Mr Mutabazi.

Batekereza Daniel, the chairperson, on behalf of Mutolere Old Students Association (MOSA) pledged support to the school, to ‘restore its glory’.

According to Batekereza, some former students are sponsoring bright but underprivileged learners to promote inclusiveness and performance.

The former students pledged to renovate one dormitory at a cost of over Shs60 million.

“We as former students pledge our commitment to see our school advance in all aspects. But we can all achieve if we work together as OBs, learners, parents and teachers, and even government.” Batekereza said.

Mr Batekereza delivered 2 heifers to kickstart the school’s dairy farm, which is aimed to supplement education and feeding. He explained that former students are still raising funds to the project and will soon deliver solar lights to improve the lighting pattern and reduce electricity costs at the glorious school.

The headteacher, Mr. Mbonyebyombi Charles expressed thanks to former students like Hillary Bisanga, Gen Kayihura and others who have jointly renovated dormitories and supported other projects.

He also commended Together for Uganda, a German NGO, that has constructed water tanks, renovated a dormitory on top of other donations.

“I thank those people and NGOs for supporting the school in one way or the other. Your contributions have immensely helped us to move forward.”

Meanwhile, the office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) was represented by Hagumimana valence, also a former student.

He encouraged parents to send their children school to support the country’s transformation.
