KISORO: The Kisoro Deputy Resident District Commissioner Ndikumwami Dan has warned the public against violating the coronavirus guidelines that were instituted to control the spread of Covid-19. Such guidelines include, among others, a nighttime curfew which starts at 7 pm and runs until 5:30 am every day.
But ever since the curfew was imposed, it’s not enforced in most parts of the district especially in villages with movement of people not restricted even during curfew time. Bars are also operating when customers are closed inside, even though, according to presidential guidelines, such businesses are super-spreaders of the Covid-19 virus and officially are still closed.
Basing on this Ndikumwami said that people who are violating guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of deadly virus will be dealt with and fined or arrested.
He also said that the bar owners who will be found hiding people in their bars will be arrested. He said that he has got information that most bars are working while closing doors contrary to the presidential guidelines of closing bars which the president said are super-spreaders of the Covid-19 virus since drunkards cannot manage to control their physical distance.
On 18th June this year the president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni imposed curfew time that starts from 7:00pm – 05:30 am.
Meanwhile Kisoro district has 609 cumulative coronavirus cases by 10th July,129 recoveries and 18 death cases while 6 other people died from other hospitals outside Kisoro meaning that 23 Bafumbira have succumbed to covid-19.
