Parents and guardians have been called upon to take full responsibility for nurturing their children for the country to have responsible citizens.
This was said by the Chahi Sub-county LC5 Councilor Kazimiri Wilson while addressing mourners at the burial of a teenager, Mucunguzi Innocent who is said to have ended his life by throwing himself into a speeding vehicle on Sunday evening.
Mucunguzi, a son to Mugirwanake Nestory, a resident of Busaro village, Muganza parish in Chahi Sub County was hit by a pickup truck.
Sources who were at the scene by the time of the incident, say that the deceased was heard saying that he would commit suicide after being accused of stealing a phone battery by her parents.
Mr Kazimiri advises parents to always sit with their children and guide them on life lessons, adding that moral decay in society is breeding criminality.
He notes that in Trading Centres, some teenage girls can be seen in bars with older men, which he says calls for concerted efforts to fight.
Ntibarikure Francis, the Catechist of Busamba Catholic Church at the burial noted that the death of Mucunguzi should be an eye-opener to other people.
The Catechist adds that there have been reports of people uprooting crosses from graves, for which reasons remain unknown. He condemned such characters, saying those who do it risk being cursed by the creator.
