Meet Robert Mukiza the Incorruptible who is transforming Uganda Investment Authority
The clearest definition for the term, Incorruptible is “not susceptible to corruption, especially by bribery.”
These were the words used by State Minister for Privatization and Investment Evelyn Anite about the Uganda Investment Authority executive director Robert Mukiza during the official handover of 620 acres of land in Kibaaya, Rukundo town council, Kisoro meant for an industrial park.
To be described as incorruptible means that Robert Mukiza is a man wearing some big shoes and I will explain why.
The statistics from Transparency International Uganda for 2020 place Uganda at 142nd position out of 180 countries.
The same report indicates that 69% of People trying to do business in the country engage in some level of corruption while 46% of public service users paid a bribe.
While addressing the gathering at Kibaaya land, State Minister for Privatization and Investment Evelyn Anite said in her six years at the Ministry, Uganda Investment Authority was always a headache for the President.
Hon. Anite says, under the leadership of Robert Mukiza, things are changing rapidly.
“Our President has always complained about corruption and lack of efficiency at the Authority but in just two months of Robert Mukiza’s tenure, things are moving forward, Robert please continue with that spirit of hard work”, Anite said
