He also noted that the power grid that was installed at Matinza Trading Centre to connect Kisoro to the Kabale substation is very weak to even supply only Matiza Trading Centre, which has halted connecting Kisoro to Kabale Power Line.

The Kisoro district Chairman, Abel Bizimana asked the officials from UMEME and UEDCL to always communicate challenges that they encounter so that relevant leaders especially from the political wing can in problem-solving.

He also urged the officials to act professionally while executing their duties by having a good working relationship.

Meanwhile, the community Affairs Assistant for Rural Electrification Agency in Kisoro, Maureen Niwagaba said that the free electricity connection policy has resumed where a person can also connect power in one room of the house.

However, Kanyamunyu Fidelis, a resident of Rubuguri Town Council says that the power substation should be constructed in Kisoro due to more power demand than Rubanda.
