  1. A single mother aged 81 and a resident of Mugombero Village Gasiza
Parish in Nyakabande Sub county fears for her life after pocketing 8
million shillings she got from selling her own land.
The old woman has been identified as Nyirahabinka Anastanzia who
was born in 1940. According to Nyirahabinka, she has received
several threat warnings from her daughter in law on allegations that the sold
land was given to her husband Niringiyimana Silver.

Speaking to voice of Muhabura, Nyirahabinka said that she bought
the land in question at 800 shillings in 1976 from a one Nyiraruhindi.
She added that she had given the same piece of land to her three
daughters who include Nyiramahoro Topista and Nyirakuzaba Verena
on conditions that included taking care of her but they later failed to
fulfill their obligations as per the then agreement

She alleges that her son Niringiyimana Silver forged a will to own the
land after she has passed away. She also indicates that she has
already spent the 8 million shillings because the land is hers.

However, the elder daughter to Niringiyimana silver who spoke to
voice of Muhabura and preferred not to be recorded said that her
father left their home for work and left a will that was signed by his
father in 1996. Our efforts to speak to her mother were futile as we
could not access her mobile phone.
Meanwhile, the Gaiza LC2 Chairperson who doubles as the
Nyakabande Cub County Lands chairman Ntawutagurwa Boniface says
that the old woman needs to be protected because she has all
necessary documents indicating that the land she sold was hers.
