Voice of Muhabura learnt yesterday that his Worship, Ndyana Richard was accused of inciting violence among Municipality councilors.

On Thursday Morning, Kisoro Municipal councilors led by the district Chairman Bizimana Abel and the Municipal Speaker, Nkuruziza Geoffrey stormed Kisoro police station to demand for the immediate release of their colleague, Anne Nyiramugisha, the LC4 councilor representing Nyamagana Ward in Central Division, Kisoro Municipality who had been detailed for defying police orders.

Speaking to voice of Muhabura, Ndyana Richard said that the LC5 Chairman has continuously backed wars in Kisoro Municipality leading to retarded developments.

He also revealed that Bizimana Abel received a letter from the Minister of works and transport indicating their desire to upgrade 5KM roads in the municipality but he never delivered it to the relevant leaders to follow up, an indicator that the district chairperson does not wish to see the municipality develop.

Voice of Muhabura has not yet verified the contents of the letter from the Ministry of Works and cannot take responsibility for the statement mentioned above.

His worship Ndyana Richard however said that he is hopeful to have a united council despite the current challenges that are normal to all leaders.

While responding to the accusations, the Kisoro LCV Chairperson Abel Bizimana asked Mayor Ndyana Richard to heed to his superiors and accept that a LC5 Chairman is an overall leader of the whole district including a Municipality.

He also refuted allegations that he intentionally failed to deliver a letter from the ministry of works and transport to Mayor’s office.

Meanwhile, he commended the solidarity expressed by municipal councilors as they fight for the good of their voters. He said that the decision to hire Mayor’s gardens was not supposed to be done by individuals but a decision by the entire council.
