Kisoro district has lost a 136 year old woman believed to have been the oldest person in Kisoro district.
According to sources from the family, Efrasi was born in 1885 and died on Monday 21st June 2021 at the age of 136.
The late Efrasi Nyirantereye was a resident of Nyamushungwa village Nyarusiza Sub County.
Information obtained from the family indicates that Nyirantereye is survived with 6 children, 59 grandchildren, 221 great-grandchildren, 111 great-great-children and 5 children of the fifth generation.
This shows that a total of 402 descendants follow the genealogy of Nyirantereye.
Among the descendants were the late Semubi Samuel and Robert Shurubwiko who were prominent business men before the time of their death.
Today she was laid to rest at her home in Nyarusiza.
