The Ubuntu Bafumbira United Association has been praised for supporting five major health facilities with an assortment of items meant to improve Kisoro district’s health Sector.
The health facilities include Kisoro Hospital, Nyarusiza HC III, Buhozi HC III, Iremera HC III and Nteko HC III
Kisoro Hospital was supported with two wheelchairs, one pair of crutches, one portable toilet and two walkers.
The remaining four health facilities were provided with one gynecological (delivery bed) each along with a resting bed including a hospital mattress, one drip stand and four screen panels.
In 2022, Ubuntu Bafumbira Association managed to raise funds during an event, dubbed Isangane 2022 at Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala.
Justus Twambaze, the Secretary for Mobilization said the association was deeply concerned about health facilities in Kisoro that are located in hard-to-reach areas.
Twambaze explained that many pregnant mothers have to travel long distances, sometimes on foot and when they get to the hospital, they have to sleep on the floor because of lack of beds for themselves and for their care takers.
Hajji Badru Mayanja commended Ubuntu Bafumbira Association for supporting the Local Government in boasting service delivery at the selected health facilities.
He noted that Government cannot afford to meet all the demands of its people, especially in the health sector therefore such kind and noble acts are highly welcome.
Kaberuka Scholar, Kisoro Hospital Administrator thanked Ubuntu for their thoughtfulness and said the donations will support patients in convalescence.
Ubuntu Bafumbira Association (UBUA) is a voluntary association established to bring together Bafumbira across the globe for common causes including unity, cultural conservation and economic empowerment.
