The NRM Vice Chairperson and LC III chairperson for Central Division in Kisoro Municipality Ramathan Ndikuyeze is now a free man after the International Crimes Division of the High Court has discontinued charges of aggravated trafficking.
The case was dropped yesterday by Justice Richard Wabwire after prosecution presented a withdrawal form discontinuing the allege charge.
In a letter signed by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Justice Jane Frances Abodo presented by Richard Birivumbuka, the court decided to dismiss proceedings against Ndikuyeze charged with aggravated trafficking in persons.
The 62-year-old had been committed to court back in July 2023 when the complainant, George Mugisha reported the disappearance of his daughter (names withheld for being underage) to the Police.
Mr. Ndikuyeze was accused of sexual exploitation of the minor after he hired her for the services of a house help during the COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown.

While Speaking to Voice of Muhabura, Ndikuyeze said he is pleased with the outcome of the court decision. He thanked God and his family for standing with him. He called for peace and development in the district.
One of his sons, Ali Turinayo said his family is happy with the decision adding that Government of Uganda has done well to deliver justice and urged people of Kisoro to continue working together.
