Christians of Mountain Miracle Church in Nyamigenda ward, Cyanika town Council, Kisoro district are counting blessings after 63 million shillings was Raised during a fundraiser aimed at expanding the existing church.
Pastor Joseph Ndacyayisenga says the total budget for the Church expansion is four billion shillings.
Ndacyayisenga commended the political and business class for showing great support towards the construction of God’s house.
He further lobbied from the Political class to ensure that access to clean safe water is brought closer to the people who currently have to cross into neighboring Rwanda to fetch water.
Bufumbira South Member of Parliament Hon. Alex Niyonsaba, commonly known as Super Seru, along with his friends in the business community contributed 3.2 million shillings in cash and pledged 25 bags of cement towards the construction of the Church.
Hon. Niyonsaba, who officiated over the function as the guest of honour said the residents of Nyamigenda have been loyal in their support through their vote that enabled him to go to Parliament.
He further pointed out the lack of water and electricity in the area adding that key on his priority list as Member of Parliament is to lobby for essential services to reach the people of Cyanika.
State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs and Kisoro Woman MP Hon. Sarah Mateke Nyirabashisitisi contributed one million shillings towards the construction of the church and 20 bags of cement to the church’s project, primary school.
She said it is a great privilege to construct the house of God adding that it is important that parents educate their children to ensure they have bright and productive futures.
