At least 50 million Ugandan shillings was yesterday collected during the fundraising function meant to raise funds to complete the church building at St Paul’s Rwaramba Church of Uganda, Kabindi Archdeaconry in Muhabura Diocese, Kisoro District.
Sam Kwizera Bitangaro, the former Bufumbira South Member of Parliament, also the former Minister of State for Gender graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Mr. Bitangaro contributed 2.5 Million shillings towards the construction efforts and commended the Christians for being visionary and uniting for a developmental cause.
In his communication, Mr. Bitangaro hinted that his desire is to see Bufumbira South attain development and he is willing to take necessary steps to ensure his participation in elevating the constituency is achieved.
Also present at the function, State Minister for Youth and Kisoro Woman MP Sarah Mateke also thanked the Christians of Rwaramba for being developmental.
Hon. Sarah Mateke contributed 1.5 Million Shillings towards the project.
Hon. Alex Niyonsaba Seruganda, the Bufumbira South MP sent a cash message of 500,000 Ugandan shillings.
The Bishop of Muhabura Diocese Rt. Rev. Godfrey Mbitse said the church is being tested at family level and therefore people need to seek God first.
He also advised couples to love one another and seek for advice when in problems.
Founder and Managing Director of Voice of Muhabura Tom Mugenga said the radio plays a vital role in encouraging the people of Kisoro to embrace true Christianity and has been doing it for the last 15 years.
He pledged to keep supporting the church and the communities by being a platform for church programs and announcements.
